Who Listening
By Leon Carpenter
Its just the system
in which I exist in
no rhyme
or reason
a senseless mission
the justice system.
Families will miss them
victims remain
pissed at them
Zero change,
law makers
whats this mist your in?
Truth in the sentencing?
Whos truth?
and
whos listening?
Mental health
poverty
property crimes
and
drug addiction
its the list I’m in.
but never mind him
just look at the list
of crimes again
oh that boy needs
a long time again
I say it
All say it
I’ll saying again
who’s truth
and who’s listening
20 years for my crime
in this system?
who’s justice?
who’s listening
Mental health
poverty
property crimes
and
drug addiction
its the list I’m in.
Its just the system
in which I exist in
the justice system

Hello World! Friends call me Leon but the government officials get my attention by using my government-approved name, Geoffrey Leon Carpenter.  It is up to you which works best. I’m a 39 year-old male held captive in WADOC.  My crime… well, those are many but the roots rise out of poverty, abuse and drug addiction. I’m happily committed to a special person, my future and my life. A hope of mine is that something of value can be gained from reading these words. These unadulterated truths seep from the darkest depths of my wounded soul.
