My name is Matt Barnes. I’m 36 years old and have been incarcerated for the past 19 years. I’m a full-time college student working towards an associate’s degree in behavioral and social science. Graduating this fall. I have aspirations of achieving a master’s degree in English once I parole. I’m very passionate about education and am employed as a teacher’s aide here in the prison’s education department. I’m also passionate about writing, spending most of my day writing essays, reflections and poetry.
