My name is April Sparkman, I am currently serving a 140 month prison term in federal prison for conspiracy as a 1st time non violent offender. I am a Texas girl born and raised. Being incarcerated has been one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life. Writing is an outlet that helps me to shed some light on the harsh realties of mass incarceration and the long prison sentences of 1st time offenders. I love to write non fiction stories as well and hope to have a book or two published one day. I am a true believer that you must make the most of every moment in your life no matter how misrable that moment may be. With my pen and paper I find a way to freedom and I make each of my moments matter!!!
