The Unexpected Hustle
The heavy thud of the cell door banging shut behind me barely disrupted from my mind…

My hometown is Haymark, Virginia. I was born into a very patriotic family. I’m single but married to a cause. I am serving a 50 year sentence for assault and aggravated robbery. I have been locked away snice 1995 but refuse to be marginalized. Through my pen my voice is heard. I have witnessed so much suffering behind these concrete walls and razor wire fencing. My conscience refuses me to remain silent. Thus, I write. I am the author of the blog www.lettersfromchristopher.com created is 2019 to give voice to incarcerated men and women. I’m a Prison Journalism Project contributing writer. I am also a participant in the Harmony Project by David Brown. It’s friggin’ awesome! I hope to write for Minutes Before Six, to be as candid as possible, to make a positive impact on readers for the betterment of those touched by the carceral system.
