I wish to report that Kevin Varga was executed by the state of Texas tonight.

Rest in Peace Kevin

Kevin’s remaining journals will be posted as they are received.

Tracey

Postscript…

I find that receiving the remaining entries of Kevin’s journal on the day of his execution leaves me quite speechless. I cannot help but wonder if there is some kind of karma in that.

Hi all, well death is always a tragic event, but when it is planned, sanctioned and premeditated by a government, well that makes me sad. I come from Australia where we do not have the DP and there are people here here that have committed awful vile crimes and, sure they do their time.WE all move on.

My sister has been involved here, much of it unknown to our family and im here to stand by her, and support what she is doing. Killing someone who is serving their time is useless, and sends the message of deterrence nowhere. Most of these sorts of crimes are committed at the spur of the moment, split second mistakes that I guess we all make to a lesser degree on a daily basis…

    Thanks for listening

First of all I want to mention I made a post regarding Kevin on the the Sioux Falls Argus Leader newspaper website – AKA the ARGUS LIAR.

I was defending his character stating he did something really cool for me – something I would never forget. He stood up to a bully that just wouldn't leave me alone for 5 years or more. I stated that I could never thank him enough for that. I went on to suggest that maybe it wasn't necessarily just Texas that murdered him – I also put the blame on South Dakota.

Apparently the Argus LIAR is a total suck up to that crappy state South Dakota, and wants to suppress free speech.

Bottom line – I'm sure this post will not be suppressed. I want to thank Kevin for being a good friend. He will be greatly missed.

Rest in Peace man – Every time I have a cold one or ten, I'll drink the first 2 for you.

Amen! You are so correct D Ruelas. God does change hearts and it doesn't matter WHAT the past is….God doesn't see it anymore, if we repent. Unforgiveness in itself is a tremendous bondage. I read that the father of one of the victims refuses to forgive either of the two killers. Kudos to Stacey for having a sensitive heart. That's the heart Jesus wants us all to have. It doesn't always block the pain, but His love is greater than our sorrow.

Also to Kevin and his family..I hope you all rest in peace. I am a number one supporter of Bart which is how I came to learn about Kevin Varga. I cant say I condone what he did but I do believe that people can change given time and sometimes it feels that after 10-15yrs on death row before they are executed seems like we are killing a different man now than the one who committed the crime back then. That doesnt mean it is acceptable in what he did, but people change. There has to be another way to have these people give back to society somehow and to turn their lives around in helping others. RIP Kevin and I hope that the victims families also find peace in their hearts. Fly free now!

    Stacey:
I thank God that you have found in your heart to forgive Kevin, because this will bring peace to your own heart. Yes, Kevin did a terrible thing and brought great loss to your family, a loss that will never be replaced, but Kevin repented and GOD forgave Kevin. Kevin, even though on death row, was able to become another man to that one that participated in killing your father. God does change hearts, even the hardest and coldest hearts.
I too want to give my condolences to Beth, his mother, and his two children, and to let them know I am praying for them for strength and peace through this time of sorrow.

A sad but not unexpected end to a sad life. If just one person, who is making the wrong choices right now, reads this acount of Kevin Varga's final thoughts and days and changes their path, it will be a fitting memorial. However, Texas executes it's murderers and anyone they think culpable and is proud to be known as the death penalty capital of the western world. As they like to say, "Don't do murder in Texas". Condolences to Mrs Varga who is also a victim here. They may be our children, but we cannot be held responsible for everything they do.

Kevin, my father was David McCoy of Wichita, KS. I have read the final report of the last few minutes of your life. It brings me comfort that you have found peace with yourself and are truly regretful. I know that this situation hasn’t been easy for anybody. I want you to know that we forgive you. It sounds like you will be missed by many. I'll be praying for you, your family and friends.

My thought and prayers are with Kevin's mother today. I can only imagine the pain of losing a child, particularly when you know the time and date of that loss.

May I correct the Admin note please sir. The State of Texas did not execute Kevin; the State of Texas 'Clinically and cold-bloodedly murdered' Kevin.

Kevin, you will be missed deeply, I hope peace has found you. I shed my tears for you. I will always value the friendship we had. As Thomas says the past is past, and the present can define a man. In the present, you are a very fine man. I send my thoughts and sentiment to your family. We are not perfect, none of us could possible be, we can only try, try to be the best we are able to be. You worked to that end. Peace my friend, and peace to your family. My sadness today and for the tomorrows to come, is the part of me who left with you today. Goodbye my friend, goodbye Kevin.
    Love, EN
