Sleepless Nights

Tonight was yet another sleepless night
Tossing and turning unable to get you out of my mind
I swear that this isn’t right
I’m here your there
Deep in my mind I often wonder do you still care
Time and time again I bolt from my sleep
Thinking of you
The times we shared and the things we used to do
You promised you would never leave me
Love me until the end of time and never forsake me
For some strange reason you’ve forgotten these things so easily
Visions of you cloud my mind daily
And every time I close my eyes to sleep
Each and every night
Out of sight…out of mind
Even Eve said “Love is blind”
Put the movie in press rewind
Needing one wish, to go back in time
Struggling on my own to fight
These sleepless nights
Poison Ivy & Passion

You crept into my heart and replaced poison ivy
With affection and passion
Causing my feelings and emotions to collide
And create an explosive crash
I swore I would never give myself to a woman or fall in love
But because of you all that changed
And you became my perfect fit like a hand in a glove
You opened me up to feelings I never knew existed
When I saw you I couldn’t be without you, I stopped trying to resist
I knew that you were mine to keep
Having to be around you every waking minute
And dreamed about you in my sleep
You took away the poison and made a different person within
You were my lover as well as my friend
The moment you said you were leaving my heart immediately turned cold
I just knew we’d be together until we grew old
And I have yet to recover if truth will be told
Wishing daily I had you to hold
Wondering how you could abandon me in such a fashion
I’m filled with poison ivy & passion……
