Seeing What’s There
By Rivelino Lopez
Was I blessed from birth or cursed to this earth?
Who’s to say what cursed or blessed is?
I walk and see, I touch and feel
This is what’s real
But I’m blind to see
The magnificent beauty …
My struggles and pain, of my own cultivation, were abandoned to my loved ones, they were to blame, and the world around them
I was perfect without blemishes, I knew it all
That’s what you would call artificial, arrogant by draw.
Lacking knowledge, discipline, without understanding of love and appreciation of life.
The blame game needs to stop, don’t flop or deceive yourself.
Bequest negativity and take accountability for yourself
In time I got old,
But also honesty grows
I’ve seen my destruction through a crystal ball
From long ago to now
Still standing fall discipline and knowledge and not below
My loving family, my oxygen to my lungs that keeps me breathing and being, and being a human being
Helping those in need
And never forgetting
Nor taking for granted what’s in reach
My First Poem
By Rivelino Lopez
A destructive path no mind straight blind
We continue with no cure
Carrying guns and knives
We live on the streets with no care
To be able to survive are you willing to steal
Or kill or even die?
Who cares about your life
Mom and Pop are the ones that cry Pop gets tired
And eventually tears drain
Mom never stops walking or crawling or caring
Only pushing tears of wishing for you to stop
And change your life before it’s too late
Mothers pay high consequences of pain
We’re sorry for our destructive ways
Now I am afraid with uncontrollable
Emotions suck me dry every day tired and drained
We have not changed even after so
Much pain
Drugs, alcohol and gangs time to take blame
for our selfish ways that’s the only method to rise
and gain our freedom from these chains no more
pain nor loneliness no more sadness or unknown
fame
so let us awake and be part of the world
love kindness once again
