What Scares Me the Most
By Keith Lamont Price

To look upon your face with inquiring eyes and genuine smile
A woman that can capture my heart with such an unlike stale
I hear her tears fall over the phone, damn what I would do
To give her a smile
Hating myself for my previous lifestyle
It took all of that to become who I am now….
What scares me the most
Is my past will never allow me to hold her close
And live in the honor that most men think is a joke!
Cause where I come from you’re popular if you’re willing to
Slap a hoe…
What scare me the most
I’ve given the youth a better way to go
Without being there to show them hope
I look at her picture and ask questions to which the
Answer I already know
Knowing that if I was free I would torture the man
That made her feel broke
I know it hurts me to be honest but violence is what I know
And to bring pain to a woman is a no go!
So I accept my fate
Its knowledge that made this so
So to live in wisdom for me will always be merely a hope
To die without truly having the woman I deserve in my life…
Is what scares me the most

America’s Heart
By Keith Lamont Price

Niggaz is doing shit to stay stuck in the pin scared to get out, they’d rather be murdered within.
I can no longer condone so I contemplate and grab myself a pen, this is to all that is listening, I know you condone the drama and the violence had you locked in.
Unconsciously our hearts turning Black.
Turn on the news and its global gun violence back-to-back.
Sending kids to a Bakersfield home now their young lives are gone.
Teenage girls suicidal, feeling all alone, I wonder how many of their fathers gone to the pin, are fighting a war with no win “to make America great again”
All the lives lost to Covid, but our minds were always caged in.
How could the future generations feel safe at school again?
If we adults can’t go shopping to buy a gift for a friend, or even a grocery run to bring the food in.
Where did the heart of American people go dark again?
Maybe when it was okay to kill the Indians for their land
Put a barrier around them, give them a turkey, and call them friend.
Or maybe when it was okay to send ships to Africa and bargain for Black Souls, then rape Indian women along with girls and African women along with girls!
Till their blood line could no longer be traced back as whole.
So, I ask this last question, America, where is our soul?
Because the heart of America is as dark as cool ignorant people doing shit to stay stuck in the pin scared to get out.

Work Hazard
By Keith Lamont Price

The occupations you choose to devote your time into
Choosing an occupation is something you have to be mature to do
Life’s time is devoted to you!
An occupation worthy of life’s time will choose you
Only time will tell if these words are true
So how hazardous is your work to the real you?
Eye to eye contact reveals the mask you use
Has the depth of the ripple effect, affected you?
Honestly me too….

Pain the Price of Life
By Keith Lamont Price

In a real way, the real pay the price for the fake,
In this street shit we don’t understand until it’s too late.
Solid as a rock is how we stay,
So, to hurt a bitch and a bitch nigga, is how we deal with the fake.

Unaware of the way our loyalty will seal our fate,
In this life even as kids we don’t get to play.
So, to be a smiling child in our dreams it will stay,
So, what the fuck do they mean happiness is where the heart will stay?

Get the fuck out my face for I hit you with my Aunties vase
“O” shit my bad, those were the good days.
So, in a casket is where her ashes lay,
So, we put uncle Big Hank ashes in a vase after the twelve gauge took his breath away.

In his last picture you should see his mother’s face – pain, confusion, dismay,
Ma-Purl I hope you okay with the destination you made.
My granny still died in pain, confusion, and dismay,
Almost a year later to the day.

But shit, Pain is the Price of Life,
And you lil niggaz think this street life is the game to play, trust me it’s not the way.
But shit, Pain is the Price of Life,
So be willing to learn about the fabric before you make the bed you lay.

V1. 29.Eight
By Keith L. Price

I’d be a fool to say I don’t love you no more,
Seeing visions of your face as I walk through the door.
Have’en dreams of our plans back to back in Maro’z.
Slid’en on Valentine just to pick you a Rose.
Riding to Granny House just to announce I proposed.
Wife and stepson I lost them both.
But what about my grand-daughter that don’t know me no more.
And will never know her dad cause of lost gun smoke.
Lost loyalty and love made you slit your throat.
So I ran to the street’s cause I can’t take it no more.
With gun’z and ammunition riding with big bro.
But God had other plans. So I’d rock solo.
Come’en home to a door wide open and you naked in a robe.
Show me the video Susie like no mija no.
These are things I wouldn’t say till my case got closed.
Cause that’s just how it go.
Now you sitten in a coma in the Hospital

V2. 29-Eight
By Keith L. Price

I’m locked up reading your statement on the stand.
Got me hurt like my brother house with that phone in my hand.
Now they view me as a bad man
All cause of word play and facts you won’t say.
But I love to read the fine print.
True Love is where my mind been.
Being loyal to a fault got me stuck in the Pin.
They would rather see me fall then to stand on all ten.
So Neff tat’ted on my chest
“All Family No Friendz”
There’s more honor in death than what it look like.
It depends on how you spend your time and what it look like.
Loss Granny so I’m slippen tryen to stay sober minded
Shaken the fakers, no more chasing flights.
Too much pain in this world so it’s joy in the afterlife.
Seeing confusion on your face got me losing the race
Plus not being by your side got me dead inside.
So Granny I’ll see you on the other side.
Joy when I see our eyes.
Jehovah God will never lie.

Know That!
By Keith Lamont Price

In a world of memories, fantasies and lust’ful poper Pussy
I can only be honest and tell the woman that choses to be with this convict, till I’m out the Penitentiary. It’s going to be a fight for me; with myself. To not make my dream’z and fantasies become a reality with different women on them street’z.
So a convict’z women should never lose confidence in herself.
Because it’z not you are the lack of caring for you. It’z mere’ly
What the state of California vs. Convict’z, mind as I pray for the needed strength from up above. To honor you the women
Who has given me honor, stability, strength and loyalty. Loyalty. Loyalty. With the ability for my mind to fly above this prison club. The one that I miss when I am or am not horny. Another action of my TRUE LOVE.

Drunken State of Darkness
By Keith Lamont Price

Mind so dismantled even in a Sober state of mind.
I’m in a drunken state of Darkness.
No “Bars” on the windows staring at a beautiful
Tehachapi sunset.
I’m in a drunken state of Darkness.
The god indwelling spirit in my heart shining brightly.
I’m in a drunken state of Darkness.
Smile on my face as I laugh historically.
I’m in a drunk state of Darkness.
Hearing the positive words you speak to me, As the
truth rang so deep it in-dwells in my spirit as our
eye’s connect our spirits lock you briefly fill my
state of drunken Darkness.
Distance driven by people who fill sorry for my
state of drunken Darkness.
I’ve lived to learn as, I’m strengthened in my
Drunken state of Darkness.
So who’s to say that there are people that
can’t live, learn and will continue healing whole-
heartedly understanding (Demi Lovato) and her
California sobriety moving towards the inner
light in a state of drunken Darkness.
Life is a liven lesson too often distorted by a,
Worldly view,
State of drunken Darkness.

Merely a man with power and Gold on his dome. Your body language fluent so you know it all along.

Words to Inquire the Possible and/or Impossible
By Keith Lamont Price

I can hear motivating words from others
But unless I prepare myself to not only hear
those motivating words, take heed to those
motivating words.  And put forth effort to engage the
motivate in self, of the motivating words to action
A motivating word is useless…

So we all must ask self why, make
something absolutely good and not only
good and (positive) for self but also others
useless…why?

No Time To Play
By Keith Lamont Price

Life is not a game
Everybody’s heart
Stops beating
The same
No matter
Which way the end came
So value family, happiness, knowledge
And love
With the most valuable gift
You may be given or can give
Your time

A Father’s True Love
By Keith Lamont Price

A father’s LOVE is like no other
I’m not your friend,
I’m not your sister,
I’m not your mother,
I’m not your grandmother,
I’m not your auntie,
I’m not your uncle, cousin, or brother.
But I’m your rock, your protector.
Your personal warrior.
The one man in the world,
That in the blink of an eye;

Is willing to live or die for ya!

True Love
By Keith Lamont Price

True love is irresponsible. Yet so responsible
True love is caring.  But yet I don’t care my love will always be there;
In that place where strangers stop and stare. Knowing there is something missing there.
True love is daring like I wish a – would but praying to God I’m not tested to do no good.
True love is compassionate but yet so powerfully potent.
True love will push you to new limits, yes I dare say limitless.
True love will tease you passionately yet leave you overtaken by uncontrollable relaxation.
True love will question you, to ponder the truth
True love is life’s joy.  If I’ve ever truly loved you there is not anything or anyone that can
Fill that void; yet to keep falling truly in love is something I can’t avoid
True love is this man! And my priceless heart.
But with a broken heart and bruised spirit is there a good woman for me
That can pardon my lack of perfection yet honor the integrity of my truth;
And become my everlasting equal in love’s truth

The Lonely Tree
By Keith Lamont Price

The lonely tree, the lonely tree
When I look at it, can it look at me?
From a far away place, can it miss its leaves?
When someone takes from it, will it miss its seeds?
How alone can alone seem to a lonely tree?
When it’s cold, will someone give it some sleeves?
Or will they say, it’s only a tree?
When it’s thirsting for water, will it scream someone water me?
Or will it plot and think of a scheme?
Or will it lose hope and shed all it’s leaves?
And think it’s not worthy to keep its seeds?
On a hill, so sad and lonely.
Remembering the days it was on a branch so nice and homey,
Why would they put it in the ground, where it’s so dark and lonely,
Now it’s on a hill by itself, but in the distance there’s a windmill.
As every season comes and goes it learns when it will get its meal
As yeas and years pass
God’s plan is revealed
No more loneliness it is, it’s family that surrounds it
On what was once a lonely hill…
So who can say that you can’t grow
Because you can relate to a tree so lonely…!
