Denied By The Innocence Project
By Ali Matar

I’m innocent, but no one believes me.
It’s like I’m living in a crazy dream.
No matter how I explain my story
I’m on my own on my way to redeem.
I give you the truth and you will not budge,
If I explain my case to others well
It doesn’t matter, they are not the judge
With the power to get me out this cell.
But I will stand firm and keep on fighting
So the court can finally acquit me;
Never backing out and never hiding,
And one day this captive will be set free.
I will have my day in court once again,
But the battle continues until then.

Disciplinary
By Ali Matar

I get in trouble, then I’m rejected,
No one I know can look me in the eyes.
Being Human, they judge how I acted;
Everyone making me feel ostracized.
I got caught but they didn’t, how’s that fair?
I’m in trouble for something we all do
Now I’m punished and everyone just stares.
Whoever tells my story misconstrues.
I’m the bad guy, you all are the hero.
Thoughts of being in my place fill your mind.
Could you avoid this using your tarot,
Or is misfortune something that is blind?
Like it or not, this is something you’ll face.
Be ready when you get caught in my place.
