In Memory of Robert Pruett
Executed by the State of Texas
October 12, 2017
I’ve been around this world
Yet I see no end
All shall fade to black again and again
This storm that’s broken me
My only friend
[Chorus:]
In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain’t no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black
Ain’t no coming back
Withdrawn I step away
Just to find myself
The door is closed again
The only one left
This storm that’s broken me
My only friend

January 24, 2018 at 5:29 amI had followed Robert for a number of years, since stumbling upon his website and tragic life story. I do not know if he was guilty of the crime but one thing is for sure, he had so much potential. If only he had been nurtured or even born in a country that believes 15 year olds should not receive 99 year sentences. The saddest part is that this will happen again and again, particularly in Trump's America as the poor become even poorer. RIP Robert. You deserved so much more. So sad.

October 20, 2017 at 9:16 pmI still can't believe it….I never wrote Robert although I wish I did…I found it so incredible that despite where he was, he was such a kind and caring person…The world really lost a light…It's such a waste of life and potential.

October 17, 2017 at 11:17 amSo deeply disturbed and saddened by Robert's murder. Such a heavy heart. He was so bright, so evolved, so generous of spirit but mostly he was innocent. I feel so sad that the world just showed cruelty to him, over and over. God help you, Texas.

October 13, 2017 at 1:16 pmIf they say
Who cares if one more light goes out?
In the sky of a million stars
It flickers, flickers
Who cares when someone's time runs out?
If a moment is all we are
We're quicker, quicker
Who cares if one more light goes out?
Well I do

October 13, 2017 at 1:16 pmThe State of Texas killed someone last night who never killed anyone. What a diabolical business. Robert was at peace before he went, and his last photos show that he was still able to enjoy life. He is an example to us all.
He was a great writer too and I am looking forward to his autobiography being published. The lyrics below I think are more representative of his philosophy. He didn't fear the reaper. I don't even need to say RIP in his case as he was at peace anyway.
All our times have come
Here, but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
(We can be like they are)
Come on baby
(Don't fear the reaper)
Baby take my hand
(Don't fear the reaper)
We'll be able to fly
