My name is Valdez J. Straughter, and I am a 49-year-old freelance writer, poet, artist, and social activist from Columbus, Ohio who has been incarcerated for the last 16 1/2 years. I have been published in various as few prison platforms, but my first major article was in the October ’21 issue of Briar Patch magazine. I’m currently at the London Correctional Institution in Ohio.
