Born in Jacksonville Florida, Stacey Schoeck moved to Georgia at age three. She grew up in the grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta and after graduating high school, went to college in Florida. Subsequently, she enjoyed a twenty year career in healthcare. In 2010 at nearly forty years of age, Ms. Schoeck was arrested for the first time in her life and convicted for her role in the death of her husband, Richard Schoeck. She was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Deeply remorseful, she strives to repay her debt to society by living with purpose and being a productive member of her prison community.
Since incarcerated, Ms. Schoeck has earned an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies and enjoys writing poetry, short stories and informative essays. Currently she is working on publishing a children’s book series aimed at those who have an incarcerated parent. Drawing on her medical knowledge, Ms. Schoeck is passionate about educating her peers about health risks, their right to adequate healthcare, and how to protect themselves while incarcerated.
