JoJo Ejonga Deogracias was born on February 1, 1991, as JoJo Jonathan Deogracias Ejonga-Lihau. He was born In Democratic Republic of Congo, in the city of Kinshasa. His Congo family has deep political and influential roots. Both of his parents served in the Congolese military, and his great grandfather, Marcel Antoine Lihau, was the first-ever President of the Supreme Court of Congo and the first-ever Secretary of Justice. Marcel was one of three original drafters of the Congolese Constitution, and also a Constitutional Law Professor at Harvard law School. And JoJo’s grand uncle, Jean Pierre-Lihau (Marcel’s son), serves as the Minister of Internal Relations in the Democratic Republic Of Congo. Also taking up the causes of others, JoJo does activist work on social justice, human rights, and criminal justice issues in Washington State. JoJo identifies himself as a Black Universalistist. He believes in the Propagation of a unified effort universally to confront and address the issues that threaten Humanity, Justice, Integrity and the Dignity of all person’s. As a Black Universalist, JoJo Deogracias Ejonga, fight and strives for Freedom, Equality, Unity, Love, Peace, and Justice For all, and to all. He was arrested in 2011 and convicted in 2013 for three counts of attempted murder. He is currently appealing his conviction and sentence.
