My name is Javier Montanez. I’m an enthusiastic writer. I’m seeking to meet writers that can help me learn more about the art of writing and the exquisiteness of crafting stories and that they may support my work. Hopefully I can build a support team where we can create amazing stories that can change lives.

I am currently a sociology major at Lake Tahoe College and I am the Cross Fit champion on Old Folsom State Prison. I’m also an active Facilitator for many self-empowerment programs such as Bridges to Life, which helps individuals make amends to those they have harmed by understanding and applying empathy, spirituality, and compassion. One of my most recent accomplishments is the short-story that was turned into a play titled, “EL MACHO” which won first place in the Old Folsom State Prison contest. In addition, I was nominated for the position of Vice President of Public Relations for the elite Old Folsom State Prison Gavel Club based on Toastmaster International curriculum. My main goal in life is to create peace, unity, and a non-violent movement that represents Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.

I was born in French Camp, California on February 11, 1987. I grew up in a Migrant Camp in Lodi, California. During my Childhood I would live six months out of the year in the United States and the other six in Baja California, Mexico due to the fact that the camp is only open for the Crop season and my parents would only work in the fields picking the regional produce. Between the ages of 5 they encountered some financial struggles and they could only afford to bring my three sisters to the United States. It wasn’t until I was ten years old, I came back to the USA and I started middle School. At the age of 18 years, I had finished high school and I got involved in a fight and I committed a second degree murder which I deeply regret. After that tragedy I went into a dark stage and became an FBI fugitive with a $10,000 reward. I lived with a different identity for 12 years. I became Gym manager, General Manager for PepsiCo Mexico Foods and then graduated from the University of Las Americas with a Business degree and became a franchise owner at the age of 30. Prior to my arrest I was also a professional triathlete and Ironman Finisher. Today I’m serving a 15 years to Life sentence and my Parole hearing is on 8/29/2028.

I speak and write fluent Spanish and English.
