I’m 22 years old and am from Dallas, TX. I am serving a 40-year sentence and I’ve been gone since I was at the age of 16 years old. As of right now I am in solitary confinement. They use to call it ADSEG, now it’s called restricted housing. I’ve been in this cell for 2 years and a couple of months. So I’ve spent a while by myself. Only way I feel free is when I write poetry. I really do hope my work inspires others to strive to do something great with their lives. Because prison is no place for any human being. Well I don’t want to take up too much of your time. I sent two poems and I hope the people enjoy them. Thank you.
