I’m 53 years old, born in January 1971 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I’m serving a 25-year sentence for manslaughter and a 40-year sentence for murder. I have been incarcerated now for over 20 years. I am a widow with one son and four grandchildren. Currently I am enrolled in Adams State University as a college correspondence student in the Bachelor of Science program for Business Administration with an emphasis in Management as well as starting classes at Raritan Valley Community College to pursue an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice through the New Jersey step college program. I sing in the church choir hear at the prison and I’m head cook in the kitchen I used to write poetry when I was younger however until recently, I found no joy to inspire me. Being reconciled to God has brought so much joy happiness and peace into my life that I now have something that’s worth writing about.
