Attorney Keith S. Hampton (TX)

Keith S. Hampton is the only attorney in Texas who has twice removed a death-sentenced inmate through clemency from conservative Republican governors who were not required by the Supreme Court to commute those death sentences. He has twice won the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Lawyer of the Year. He has been repeatedly recognized in Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers, and in June, 2018 he won the State Bar of Texas Judge Black Award. He recently won four not guilties by reason of insanity and twelve writ applications on behalf of people like Fran and Dan Keller and the San Antonio Four, all of whom were ultimately exonerated.
