Today I read an article in the prison legal news concerning a settlement reached over COVID-19 measures, specifically home confinement release at F.C.C. Lompoc in California. To my understanding, I guess that was supposed to happen here, as well. People fought for us, but somehow Graham C.C. managed to let out the least (I think) of all the prisons. The Clinical Services Supervisor for counselors here seems to detest any measures to let us go as well. Many have had to fight to get good time with her. When I was in Hill C.C., they gave me a list of prisons to transfer to when I asked, yet Danville C.C. gave me two, this being one that I’m in. It’s clear to me it’s because they wanted me in an awful place. I should’ve been released in 2011 after my medical issues (which resulted in irreparable injuries thanks to I.D.O.C.) way before COVID, yet COVID hit and I’m still not seen as one who’s been through enough and am left to sit here. The house I was in, we all got sick from COVID in 2020. Couldn’t smell, no appetite; even when I tried to put something in my stomach after a few days I couldn’t taste it. I had no energy. Out of nowhere my leg began hurting and I eventually realized it was swollen. They gave me meds to get it down, but still, some days I have pain in my legs. This very well may be a side effect of COVID for all I know. Since I got to Graham C.C. in 2019, we’ve had boil orders for the water. At the end of September, 2023, we were told not to drink the water because a pipe had burst. Yet on September 30th, when we were told, it was days after this had originally happened, so we had been drinking bad water. Even after learning this, we didn’t get water, juice, or milk, like they said they would provide. Case in point: one day at chow, I knew that, since no water was available, I would only be able to eat a small amount without choking to death, since I had no water to help food go down. I don’t eat too fast, but with water and enough time I’ve made it–but some call us to go too fast, and guys who usually are done will still be trying to get food in their mouths, so I know it’s quicker than normal. I feel like they’re just looking to say they gave us food, never mind if we had a chance to actually eat it. The devil must be soul rich, cause lately it seems that there are a lot of soulless individuals, and it’s sad. Not the place to be.
