A Season for Everything
By Katron Pittman

My water stopped working for the plant. I tried and tried to make it grow.
The once good soil had now gone bad, but I still wouldn’t let it go.
First the color faded from the tree.
Over time one after another, off came leaf after leaf.
This wasn’t just any flower, but one special and dear to me.
Late nights searching for solutions led to missing hours of sleep.
Giving up on something I love was just not in my belief.
I was forcing it, but just to keep the peace I had to let it be.
This vision I once had for that growth I can no longer see.
