Calm….Before the Storm….
By Billy Brown

Though sometimes it’s been stagnated? We still touched each other. We moved forward… While hardships, hurt, and pain played its role, we moved forward… Bumps in the road, walls up, even a dungeon, we prevailed, we moved forward… Homeless, hungry, and in hell, we moved forward…

Up against ageism, sexism, racism, we moved forward, belittled by many, downed by others, crucified, we moved forward… Forfeited, left out, and passed by, we moved forward… 3/5 (a human) Negro, Nigger, even Colored, we moved forward…

I’m sure we can all respect the “word play”? Do you respect the “message”? We moved forward seemed the point of my piece, but “we moved forward”. IS THAT CALM in all of us? The process, functions, the workings, etc., etc. No shortcuts. Or is that calm our state of mind, that mental state? Inner wishing, subconscious? Is everything mentioned above a part of that calm? (And more.)

“Before the storm.” What is the storm? The storm is the “ones” talked about, have-nots, the wretched of the earth, single Black mothers, down-trodden, the lower (so-called) class. (Generally, this lower class consists of Black people / people of color.) Even though this “class” has shown courage, determination, strength, love, loyalty, we moved forward…

Dehumanized, mis-educated, misled, overall – misunderstood – beat, slaughtered, and killed, in some of the worst ways possible, but yet – we moved forward…

The calm, i.e. proper, preparation, prevents, poor, performance. Not allowing emotions to dictate your actions. Emotions dictate that storm (uncontrollable). The calmness gets us ready for the storm. It’ll be our jobs to guide the storm in the direction(s) that best suits the calm, for order is due; we moved forward…

The calm (which will be restored) will have a guiding force – the people – for they/we are contradiction to this world we know today, and in order for us to survive, that calm must be, and remain in effect throughout the “storm” days, as storms do – come to pass, that storm blows through, clearing the way for “something” new, a foundation from the ground up – solid – when we prevail in glory. The tactics, strategies, and guidelines that were/are followed will be a testimony to all that. A little goes a long way.
