Matthew is a multi instrumental singer songwriter incarcerated in KYDOC. He is a guitar instructor and a songwriting coach amongst the inmate population. With hundreds of songs under his belt and an outdate of November ’27 he is passionate about pursuing the music industry and documenting his story. His essays display the challenges of being a “caged musician,” as he calls himself and his peers, and the hopeful future he has as a musical entrepreneur. From topics of business, networking, hustling, and tips given directly from industry professionals Matthew aims to exhibit what it takes to chase the dream while in pursuit. His focus is to highlight paths for other caged musicians desiring to turn their craft into a career. His ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between incarcerated artists and the futures they hope to achieve.
