Mighty Warrior

I was born a mighty warrior,
Able to tackle any task…
strong and mighty in battle,
surely built to last…
Given dominion over worldly things,
but spiritually I was lost…
chasing the material in my thinking,
without ever counting the cost…
now wounded from my quest,
given grace and time to heal…
through the tears of my affliction,
the spiritual is revealed…
my wounds released a tenderness,
the power in me was gone…
now I come to realize,
that strength was not my own.
