Living The Dream
By Kenneth Walker

Life it is The Struggle, carrying on despite despair
Almost more than we can bear
They say it’s our brain, chemicals beyond repair
Medicate till you don’t care

(Chorus) Thanks for asking I’m doing fine
And finding new ways to cope
How are things in your life
As for me I’m living the dream

Around the world, people are being murdered
More cost for less cheeseburgers
Our leaders are pushing us apart, even further
While The Powers That Be merger
Unpredictable mutually assured destruction
With no need for a button
Incoming total planetary devastation
No signal is a vacation

(Chorus)

Every sunrise is a gift given by grace
More people being displaced
I use the Sword of Damocles to shave my face
Don’t let your fear go to waste

You and me we’re living the dream.

Imprisoned
By Kenneth Walker

100 days trapped in fear
Will I ever escape here
Injustice reigns in the silence
Only touch I’ve felt is violence
Dream I’m free till morning
Rude awakening without warning
Wish to die and end my pain
Won’t leave those I love the stain
Taking one step at a time
Tomorrow’s sun may shine

Just another day in prison
Suppressing all this rage
No outlet in my vision
Turn your face I’ll turn the page
Imprisoned my face
Envision my place

This legion I’ve defeated
May yet be repeated
I tire of the slaughter
Like holding back water
Only way to divert the flood
Let words flow from my blood
With the help of my allies
My voice echoes and amplifies
No longer striving alone
Love comes when my heart is shown

Just another day in prison
Expressing all this rage
Share what’s in my vision
Turn your faces to my page
Imprisoned I’ll say
Envision your face

Thru the years our bodies remained
Now our minds can’t be chained
Realize with great heartache
We’re all that we can break
Even if they execute us all
Back home our souls will freely fall
Know we were made for more
One knows just what for
Keeping our heads above the walla
See which of us it is that falls

Just another day in prison
Offering all this rage
Creators share your vision
Turn suffering into strength
Imprisoned with faith
Envision their face

Doodoo (Lyrics)
By Kenneth Walker

The man in the next cell is covered in poop
It makes me wonder what he’s been through
What’s pushed him to the point
He thought he’d liven up the joint
With some doodoo
He started with himself
Then onto the highest shelf
Till it’s dripping down the walls
Running out into the halls
Yep that’s doodoo
Doodoo, doo-doo-doo, doodoo, doo-doo.
How that psych’s words must a stung
Now he’s shouting in a barbarous tongue
Boy does he sound pissed
Pounding with his funky fist
Filled with doodoo
The guards are plugging their noses
While searching for longer hoses
Bribing him to take a shower
Stink cloud growing by the hour
That smell of doodoo
Doodoo, doo-doo-doo, doodoo, doo-doo
Still not sure what he’s feeling
But our paint it’s a peeling
Instead of using his words
He’s saving up his turds
And making doodoo
Doodoo, doo-doo-doo, doodoo, doo-doo
Doodoo, doo. Doodoo, doo-doo

Tenements
By Kenneth Walker

Chorus
Overhead thru the wall, coming down the hall
Or was it from the floor or ceiling
I swear I’ve heard it all
And I still hear them

A woman now living, all alone
Still two voices are arguing
Another man singing, into the phone
Happy Birthday to his progeny
Youngster cursing, his lot in life
Oh how short his candle burned
Elder saying, you ain’t lost your wife
You just lost your turn
(chorus)

Next door neighbors, starting to fight
Over who gets to be the Daddy
Those who already, lost their minds
Screaming out in harmony
Bunch of folks, telling lies
Each hoping others will believe
Mama praying, as she cries
For the grown one who’s still her baby

(chorus)

Prophets claiming, as they hawked
The End will end our pains
Keys jangling, as the Supers walked
Or was it the clink of chains
Dogs are barking, from far away
Someone banging without rhythm
Not sure what they’re, trying to say
But I wish I could meet them

(chorus)
End

Cell Serenity
By Kenneth Walker

Sometimes I write, to right what’s wrong
Today plays bits of song, streaming in my mind
Lyrics from the Firefly theme
“You can’t take the sky from me”
But they have taken my sky
The sun, moon and stars, wind and clouds
Years spent in windowless rooms with cold stale air

Unnatural light, day and night
Nights in a daze, my cellies and I never alone
Except for now and then I go for a walk
Underground, my shackles jangle along the way
To court where they say “Please come again.”
Back to my cell where I keep a secret
No contraband search will find

To see it, first close your eyes
Now follow the light inside
A tiny crack expands the closer we get, the more to see beyond
A multiverse of limitless possibilities
Spawning from different past or future choices
Regrets and anticipations aside, there’s my private Fantasias
Worlds with a spectrum of skies

Under which we’ll fly free, toward twin suns
Over nightmares and knights from days of yore
Or scientific fictions where I play the hero
Not the villain
I fell in love with these places as a child who dreamed
A man would one day show you all…
There are no walls
