FOR SURE LOVE

I had searched my whole entire life for you to find
Now your smile is etched forever in my mind
My heart beats rapidly whenever I hear your voice
The sweetest sound to my ears – my favorite musical choice
When I think of the profound and unconditional love we share
It’s unique, it’s unadulterated, it’s one of a kind and rare
It has truly been a blessing everyday since we first met
I put all of my chips in on us and our ‘forever’ bet
When I reflect on our love everyday I smile at what we have
Even with our up’s and down’s I have no choice but to laugh
There’s an unbreakable bond underneath our hard times
Because our foundation was built with all the right binds
I Know what we built is certainly special, everlasting, and true
Always remember every moment of each day how much I love you

I can stare at you all day while I’m stuck in a daze
Unprecedented feelings seep through my soul
I was once an incomplete puzzle – now you made me whole
Broken and damaged from my experiences in life

WAITING ON A MIRACLE

You think I’m living fine without worries or cares

FREEDOM AT LAST

For so many years I have been waiting on you
The setbacks, trials and tribulations I’ve been through
To possess you indefinitely is something I wanted to do
And the time of when it would happen – only God knew
For nineteen years I battled everything I could bare
Many nights I would have to wipe away a tear
But one thing for sure I never let in any kind of fear
Knowing in my soul I wouldn’t spend my entire life here
Then you finally came, in the blink of an eye
A breath of fresh air where I can finally sigh

To where they are no longer standing or are a burden to me
I’m praying with my brothers on one accord so just hear our plea
You said you are in the midst when two or more touch and agree
I have no doubt in my heart and believe those things that I say
Will manifest and come to pass when I speak them this day
Your power and authority over all things is always on full display
Because your word will not return void – everything must obey
No matter if my mountains are standing high and ever-so tall

Mom, at 12 years old, I remember vividly the day that you died
I was hurt and didn’t want to believe it as I sat there and cried
Grandma had sat us down and told all of us you passed away
My body immediately went numb and I couldn’t find a word to say
When you didn’t come home that night then it finally sunk in
That you were gone for good and my life felt like it came to an end
I know your dying wish was to keep all of your kids together
And for us to be educated because you wanted our life to be better
You worked two to three jobs to help our family overcome our strife
Now I know that all you wanted to do was to give us a better life
God had called you home to heaven and its been thirty years now
But each day that goes by I still remember how your voice sound
At times I wonder why you left me, when I talk to you in my prayers
Just the thought of you being gone instantly bring me to tears
I hope I’m making you proud by displaying everything you put in me

In all you did, you showed me the character of a women that’s true

RENEW YOUR MIND

Once we find ‘Rest in Renewal’ then we will be able to ‘Renew our Minds.’ The word says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

Instead of us being shaped and molded by the values of this world, Renewing our Minds will allow us to be shaped and molded by the values and principles of God.

See, When we allow our minds to be focused on the ways of the world and all of it’s worries and concerns, then it will produce a life that will cause us to be tossed back and forth by how the world operates,

But when we Renew our minds to be of God, then God will keep us steadfast and use the Holy Spirit to guide and shape our thoughts and behaviors so we can endure all things.

The transformation of us Renewing our Minds will have us go from operating in the natural to us operating in the spiritual with the mind of Christ, so our Godly thinking will produce Godly actions because our actions are the fruit of our deepest thoughts.

See, when our deepest thoughts are of God then the fruit of our Godly actions will help us resist temptations, the fruit of our Godly actions will help us handle every situation in spiritual righteousness and Godly integrity, the fruit of our Godly actions will help us see that the more we trust God to carry our burdens, then we will have peace which surpasses all understanding because we are setting our minds on things above, not on things on earth.

When we align our actions with the will of God and not respond to our situations how the world wants us to then we are proving what is good, and acceptable in the sight of God and living out the perfect will of God.

Brethren, Renewing our Minds, is a transformation that does not happen overnight. It is a continuous daily effort on our behalf, throughout our lifetime, on our spiritual journey with God. The more time we spend in intimate fellowship with God, the more our spirit man is changed into the likeness of Christ.

No matter our obstacles, our struggles, and our adversities we face, we have to continue to draw closer to God and allow God to transform how we think from the natural to the spiritual, so our actions go from being ungodly to being Godly.

Therefore, keeping being transformed brethren,

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:23)

YOUR DREAM STILL MATTERS

I want to remind you all of something that life may have tried to make you forget: Your Dream Still Matters….

I don’t care about how long it’s been. I don’t care about how many doors have closed. I don’t care about what people have said, who have left, or about how many times you had to start over.

If that dream still lives in your heart, then it still has purpose, it still has power, and it still matters.

Life will have a way of making us doubt ourselves because we get caught up in our daily routines, we get caught up in working jobs that drain us, we get caught up in fulfilling responsibilities that leaves us with no space for vision.

Because of this, somewhere along the way we put our dream on a shelf. We tell ourselves that we will come back to it one day but often than not, that one day never comes and the dream gets dusty, the dream gets buried and the dream gets lost.

But I’m here to tell you that it’s not too late, you are not too old, and your dream is not too broken.

You may have taken detours, you may have made mistakes, you may have faced rejection but that does not mean the dream has died.

It means you were being prepared, it means you were being strengthened, it means you were being shaped because dreams require endurance.

The people who change the world are not always the most talented, but they are the one’s who refuse to quit. They are the one’s who still carry their dream even when no one else see’s it. They are the one’s who keeps building in silence, who keeps praying in private and who keeps preparing in the dark.

Because purpose is refined in the places no one claps for.

However, do not be discouraged that your dream has not yet materialized into reality, for delay does not mean denial, it means development.

See, sometimes the dream takes time, not because you are doing something wrong, but because your dream is that big. It’s going to require a more stronger you, require a more wiser you and require a more focused you.

And sometimes, it’s not just about the dream, it’s about who you become chasing it.

Yes, it will take hard work. Yes, it will take strong faith. And yes, people will question you endlessly, but if that dream is still burning in your spirit and still burning in your heart, than you owe it to yourself to go after it and achieve it.

Forget about the lack of support you had. Forget about what did not work before. Forget about the fear of failing again.

Those people were not meant for you to take them with you because they did not see the stairs while you were on your way up. Those failures were just lessons you learned on all of the ways that it simply didn’t work. Those fears are only there until you stop listening to them and you stop giving them validation.

You are allowed to rise, you are allowed to pivot, and you are allowed to believe again..

Your dream still matters because you matter, your voice matter, your story matter, and your gift matter… Someone in the world is waiting on what only you can deliver and if you give up now, you’ll never know what could have been.

Therefore, today, I dare you to dust your dream off and take it back off the shelf. Revisit your vision. Speak life over it. Write it down again and start where you are right now with what you have.

It does not have to be perfect. You don’t have to have all of the right resources. You just have to keep putting it together one piece at a time. You just have to keep moving forward one step at a time. And you just have to keep grinding one day at a time.

Don’t ever stop believing in yourself. Don’t ever stop being persistent. Don’t ever stop envisioning where you see yourself at in life, because your dream still matters and it always will.

RISE ABOVE THE DOUBT

I want to talk to you all about something everyone of has faced…… Doubt. It’s the quiet voice in our heads that whispers, “I’m not good enough,” “I can’t do this,” or “What if I fail?”

Doubt does not always shout! It creeps. It grows in silence. It slowly consumes us, and if we’re not careful then it will plant roots in our minds and choke the visions we once had for our lives.

However, I’m here to remind us: we were not born to shrink, we were born to rise.

Rising above the doubt, does not mean that we may never feel unsettled. Rising above the doubt, does not mean that we may never feel unsteady. Rising about the doubt, does not mean that we may never feel uncertain.

It means we choose to keep moving despite the unsettling, despite the unsteadiness, despite the uncertainty. It means we stop feeding our fear and start feeding our faith. It mean we will not be paralyzed by our doubt.

When the world tells us, “No” and our circumstances says, “quit,” we have to dig deep within ourselves. Remember the challenges we have already overcome. Remember the times we cried but still got up in the morning. Remember the doors that shut, only to lead us to better ones.

We have not come this far to let doubt rewrite our story..

Our journey will not be measured by how perfect it was, but by how powerful our bounce back was. When we fall and get up, we send a message to doubt, “I am stronger than you,” “I will not quit,” “I will over come you.”

Think of the great leader, innovators, survivors and warriors. They were all immune to doubt. They did not let it slow them down. They did not let it win. They showed up. They spoke up and they refused to bow down to fear. They refused to allow doubt keep them stagnant in place. They refused to allow doubt to stop them from becoming who they all eventually became.

Therefore, today I challenge us to rise above the doubt.

We must walk like we’re already chosen. We must speak like the break through is on the way. We must act like the storm is already passing…. Because it is.

We don’t need everyone to believe in us, we need to believe in ourselves just enough to keep going. We need to believe in ourselves just enough to know that we can do it. We need to believe in ourselves just enough to understand that the only limitations we have in life are the ones we place on ourselves.

Let our life speak louder than our fear. Let our actions silence our doubt.

Rise up! Push forward! Stand tall!

Because our purpose is great then our fear and our future is brighter than our doubt.

STILL YOU’LL RISE

SHATTERED DREAMS

Growing up in an urban city instilled a lot of things within me
I had to watch anyone I encountered even those who acted friendly
Day after day I experienced what it was like to face strife
All I wanted to do was make it out of my environment to live life
Life lessons I learned through my journey at an early age
Never in my mind I thought I’ll end up with 60 years in a cage
I was a young man lost looking for a better way to live
But no matter what I went through I always been willing to give
Life’s journey has been rocky but it has helped me truly grow
The man I have become you can see in my actions that I daily show
I’ll continue changing to be a better man then I was the day before
I always know the sun will shine again after the rains downpour

DON’T QUIT, STAY OPTIMISTIC

Never give up by staying positive in all the things you do
It might take time to acquire this mindset for some it might be new
Giving up on things overtime will emotionally drain and effect you

This is for all of those who in life that have been sadly abused
Who faced traumatic experiences that they didn’t even choose
Who time and again faced sufferings and were being used
Left emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually scarred & confused
A lot of times you held these pains deep within yourself
You didn’t feel you would be believed if you cried out for help
I can imagine your thoughts and how you must have inwardly felt
Going through those experiences had to shatter your mental health

With you in my life I know my days will no doubtly be bright
You mean the world to me so for you I will always fight
To feel your presence once again is what I truly yearn for
I’m addicted to you in every way and that’s the truth for sure
Being that I’m without you makes me miss you even more
Because your worth to me is one thing I can not ignore
Now I realize your importance and what you mean to me
I long for you daily because it’s you with whom I should be
As I get pass each day praying that it you who I’ll once again see

HEAR ME ROAR

I will not give up if I’m feeling physically drained or spiritually poor
I’m not meant to be held down because I am only meant to soar
My destiny is inevitably tied with reaching any Mount Rushmore
Because I have the eye of the tiger and you will hear me roar!
Failure comes in my life to hold me back or at least have tried
But my resiliency and perseverance will not let me be denied
And no matter the hurt, pain or countless tears I’ve cried
I still keep pushing forward with tremendous dignity and pride
When the world tries to bind me with limitations in any ways it can
I just dig deep and muster up that inner strength I have within
I maximize my efforts at all cost so I will make it to the end
Just know You’ll Hear me roar – over time and time again

WHERE ARE YOU!?

I’m on the road to finding “True Love” as I follow its trail
I’ve been searching for you incessantly – to no avail
You’ve been able to evade me in every possible way
When I thought to have captured you – you flee away
You’ve been so elusive – which makes me wonder why
You’re tainting my heart to where I no longer want to try
Am I not meant for you? – is this your sole reason?
Give me a chance to show you – I’m who to believe in
I still have hope – one day to find your love that’s true
But until we do met – I’m asking myself, “Where Are You?”

Use your brains more and all of the gifts that you got

These senseless acts of violence needs to rapidly decrease
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN and strive to have positive inner growth
You can elevate yourself to be better if you want that the most
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN and be a productive citizen of society
Stop using drugs or alcohol so your daily actions are in sobriety
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN and pick up a pad along with a pen
Go write a best seller book and watch all the awards you’ll win
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN and write the next big screenplay
You have an amazing talent and need to put it on display
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN and become an entrepreneur
You will accomplish so much if you choose to open that door
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN and live with love in your heart not hate
We need to spread this to every country, city, town, and state
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN is our message we need to all share
We can bring about change if we all put the efforts in from here
PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN…..

THE CLIMB

You have that dream where you can almost see it
A voice inside your head says you’ll never reach it
It feels like you’re lost with every move you’re making
So you second guess every step you’re taking
If you go through a hindrance and feel your faith is shaking
Invigorate yourself, carry on, and say, “No I am not breaking!”
Life unfailingly brings uphill battles, and occasionally you’ll lose
There’ll be another mountain, and you’ll want to make it move
Misfortunes leave you in pain with a temporary bruise
Stand tall in adversity – that’s something you have to choose
Hold your head high no matter what life brings your way
Keep pushing on despite the struggles you face everyday
Your experiences are moments you will always recapture most
You may not know these moments will one day define your growth
It’s not about what’s on the other side nor how fast you get there
It’s about the Climb, so keep moving forward without any fear
