Question: Did you think freedom was not attainable?
Response: I never thought freedom was unattainable because I knew there have been so many of my ancestors who have been thru horrific and inhumane conditions and thru faith, will, perseverance and determination overcame and triumphed. I always felt in my spirit that freedom was a state of mind and not a specific location that I had to arrive at. God is my ultimate teammate so I knew he would protect, guide, and lead me in the direction I was supposed to go.
I chose to make an executive decision to be a better, stronger and wiser person and man. I had to unlearn the ignorance and egotistical beliefs, thoughts and behaviors and replace them with humility, universal principles, empathy, compassion, acceptance, and awareness. Once I learned how to exercise and execute these positive, powerful and profound attributes, I started getting a greater understanding and feel for true inner freedom.
The past is history, the future is a mystery, so I must embrace the present, the now and put in quality work on a constant and consistent basis and just stay thankful and grateful for every breath I’m afforded to breathe because that’s freedom.
Question: Did you feel that programs had no benefit?
Response: I believe programs have benefits for me because I’m open and receptive instead of being simple-minded and closed off to embracing new people. Places, things, ideas, and information. I’m a student of life, so I will find and apply the jewels in whatever program. I grew up in an environment that was surrounded by so much crime, violence, drugs, chaos and darkness and I was unable to learn from that. I make it my business and my pleasure to bloom where I’m planted and I’ve learned so many priceless lessons about my thinking errors and untreated trauma from the programs I’ve completed at this point.
I choose to surrender on a daily basis and check self, making sure I’m operating and flowing off spirit and humility instead of flesh and ego. I will continue to trust the process and stay open and receptive to life and continue to learn, grow, mature, elevate, and evolve no matter the time, day, place or situation. Every day above ground is a win so I’ll continue to live and lead by example and strive for progress over perfection.
For any program to impact and influence my life for the greater good, it has to have my consent and permission, so I give my consent and permission to benefit from all formal and informal programs
Question: Did you believe pro-social behavior was not for you?
Response: I always believed prosocial behavior was for me because throughout my life I played sports, went to camp all throughout my childhood. So, interacting with others is something I enjoyed. I feel being prosocial builds bonds and friendships that adds value to a person’s life. Being prosocial has allowed me to meet and connect with some interesting and intriguing people that have impacted and influenced my life in a positive, powerful, and profound way and I’m thankful and grateful for those relationships.
Life is about connection so being social is something I’ll always be open and receptive to and just flow with it and grow with it.
