Hello. My name is Khalil Hammond. I am currently a prisoner within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, serving a lengthy sentence for a 2009 armed robbery. Specifically, I was sentenced to serve 9½–29 years for this crime, which I maintain my innocence and continue to seek justice through the appellate court system.

I am from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but was arrested in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Over the years, I’ve found a level of peace in creative writing and received some good feedback over the years for several pieces that I’ve written. I particularly enjoy writing free-verse style poetry. I find it to be the most expressive style and a huge release for my internal turmoil. However, I’m good at all forms of creative writing to include essays, op-eds, short stories (and more).

I’m an advocate against institutional injustice and utilize a paralegal certification I acquired to help myself and others fight back the right way (or more socially acceptable way (LOL)!
