A reformed egoist whose view of self shifted from individualism to community member due to the study of Buddhism, virtue ethics, utilitarianism, stoicism and meditations on the nature of reality. Born in 1983 I was successfully building a janitorial services business and raising three kids when I was incarcerated in 2017 on a 30 year sentence. The good time scheme meant I was eligible for parole in 2024, at which time I received a 2 year denial despite being a model inmate. I remain perpetually optimistic, and even grateful for every challenge life presents though, as it enables the personal growth Epictetus and Aristotle deemed so vital.
