I can’t believe it has been 21 years. In October of 2004 I was arrested and then later sentenced to an inordinate sentence. It has been 21 lengthy years since my apprehension. Nearly half of my life has been spent behind the callous prison bars. I have accompanied many of my close friends to the gate before they walked to freedom. When I gaze up to the bright moon in the night, it seems to have empathy for me. Few days have been filled with joy. Many nights have been overlayed with solitude and sorrow. I have called on the Almighty God for comfort. But I have also asked Him to strengthen my heart – for I do not know if I will spend another 21 years in prison.
